OEN Member NewsVertueLab, the Oregon cleantech backer, gets Wells Fargo grant (Portland Business Journal)

VertueLab has won a $70,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator, a boost for the early-stage cleantech backer as it evolves strategically and operationally.

“The Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator is proud to provide additional support to VertueLab for their efforts to accelerate the development and commercialization of clean technology and support early-stage entrepreneurs,” Ramsay Huntley, clean technology and innovation philanthropy program officer with Wells Fargo, said in a statement. “These are the folks who are really disrupting the industry and driving innovation.”

Vertue Lab is the former Oregon BEST. It adopted a new name last year, coinciding with a narrower focus on backing technologies that can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The organization says it’s close to launching the VertueLab Climate Impact Fund.
