As another year goes in the books, it’s worth examining exactly who’s going to make a big splash when the calendar turns to January.

This year’s roster of People to Watch in the coming year includes several tech executives who’ve assumed difficult new duties. The list for 2020 will no doubt include Intel’s new chief executive, who, as of press time, hasn’t been named.

Also on our list, developed by the Portland Business Journal staff: a newly elected official whose opinion about baseball could one day make the difference as to whether a stadium is built, several footwear execs and a Seattle-based civic leader who suddenly holds big sway over one of Portland’s best-known entities.
