OEN NewsHighlights from OEN’s Spring 2015 Angel Oregon Showcase

OEN’s Spring 2015 Angel Oregon Showcase, which took place on Wednesday, April 22, offered a sneak peek of Oregon’s 12 most exciting up-and-coming companies. At the end of day, the winner of OEN’s Spring 2015 $240,000 Investment Award was announced. (Watch the video at right to see the announcement of the winner and the presentation of the Big Check.)

The fun, fast-paced event featured five-minute pitches from 12 early-stage entrepreneurs, who are doing everything from unobtrusively monitoring the elderly, to redefining the cast iron frying pan, to pairing up college study buddies. Internationally acclaimed startup guru Ekaterina Walter, author of the Wall Street Journal bestseller Think Like Zuck, delivered the keynote address.

Of course, securing investment is not the only way for an early-stage startup to fundraise—to that end, the audience also heard from Ryan Grepper of The ‘Coolest’ Cooler and other local entrepreneurs who have launched and run successful crowdfunding campaigns.

Additional highlights included an overview of the economic impact of Angel Oregon alumni, eight one-minute pitches, a pitch from a third grader who is opening a lemonade stand, an audience favorite vote, and more!
