OtherCover Oregon Seeks Startups for Healthcare Conversation

Contributed by Marisa O’Brien, Business Marketing Specialist, Cover Oregon

Cover Oregon, the new central marketplace where Oregon individuals and employers will be able to shop for health insurance plans and access financial assistance to help pay for coverage starting in October 2013, is looking for a few small businesses, including startups, to join in a conversation about healthcare.

Cover Oregon, together with the Small Business Administration, is planning on doing a series of Google Hangouts and is looking to have a small business participate and provide their insights and experience. They are seeking a business that: 1) is currently offering health coverage and utilizing the tax credits or 2) didn’t get tax credits for 2013, but plans to utilize them in 2014 through CO.

To get the tax credits, an employer would need to be fewer than 25 employees, pay average annual wages of less than $50,000 and pay at least 50% of the employee-only premium.

If you are working in a startup that meets these criteria and would like to be part of the healthcare dialogue, please contact Cover Oregon at info@coveroregon.com or by calling 1-855-CoverOR (1-855-268-3767).
