OtherNew Meyer Memorial Trust Grant Supports Growth of OEN’s Entrepreneurs Foundation

Portland, OR – The Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN) is pleased to announce it was recently awarded a two-year, $110,000 grant from the Meyer Memorial Trust to support the expansion of OEN’s Entrepreneurs Foundation (OEN’s EF) program.

OEN’s Entrepreneurs Foundation program allows entrepreneurs to dedicate equity interests to OEN today that will fund their future philanthropic giving when the company becomes successful. Current and past participants include local companies such as Elemental Technologies, Jive Software, Kryptiq, Phoseon Technology, Tripwire, and Zapproved, among others.

“This grant is designed to help OEN encourage start-up companies to develop a culture of philanthropy and volunteerism that contributes to their communities,” said Meyer Memorial Trust CEO Doug Stamm. “We’re pleased to see OEN leverage our funds to stimulate present and future giving by the business sector.”

“Everything that we do at OEN incorporates a spirit of giving back––our extraordinary network of experts give their time, money, and expertise to help the next wave of entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life,” said Linda Weston, President and Executive Director of OEN. “Our Entrepreneurs Foundation of the Northwest program ensures that we’re helping our state and regional communities grow alongside the businesses they support, and we are delighted to be able to continue this program with the generous support of the Meyer Memorial Trust grant.”

To date, participants have returned over $10 million worth of volunteer time, talent and resources to more than 100 nonprofit organizations in Oregon and southwest Washington. OEN has received two previous grants from the Meyer Memorial Trust—one to assist with strategic planning, the other to facilitate capacity building.
