HoneyComb Corporation, a Portland-based maker of unmanned aircraft (drones) to monitor crops, was voted Audience Favorite from among the Concept Stage companies.

“OEN’s Angel Oregon was a tremendous success with more than 65 companies who applied to compete for the angel investment raised from angels participating in the investment award,” said Ernie Bootsma OEN’s Angel Oregon 2013 program chair. “We are seeing a great deal of company formation taking place that bodes well for the startup scene and the overall economy in Oregon and Southwest Washington.”

This year’s finalist companies were from throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington that applied to compete at OEN’s Angel Oregon 2013. A rigorous selection process was undertaken by the panel of angel investors to select the companies chosen as the Launch Stage winners. Each angel investor staked at least $5,000 that helped create the investment award for this year’s event.
