Structuring Equity Investment – Get it Right
The advice we most often hear experienced entrepreneurs give new founders is: get a good lawyer. Time spent properly setting up your company, understanding the downstream ramifications of taking equity in different formats, and effectively managing your cap table, will literally pay dividends over the life of your company.
This session is a deep dive with one of those good lawyers. Meredith Fox of White Summers has represented both entrepreneurs and investors in dozens of deals, and will share the most important lessons she’s learned from years in the trenches. You will learn:
- Different types of investment structures, including note financings, SAFEs, and equity financing
- What type of investment tends to work best at each stage of a company’s stage of growth
- Different types of equity investors (angel, VC, strategic investor), and how to find the best fit for your company
