OEN April PubTalk: Workplace Transformation: Team, Tools & Tech

The Coronavirus pandemic helped many of us re-order our life’s priorities and spawned The Great Resignation. As a startup founder, how do you build a team, a culture, and a workplace that gives your company the best chance for long-term success? Productive Flourishing founder Charlie Gilkey will moderate a conversation with The Wild Founder/CEO Gabe Paez, Radious Founder/CEO Amina Moreau, and Cinder Staffing’s Director of Social Equity, Marcus Carter II at the April 2022 OEN PubTalk on workplace transformations.

Please join us at Irving Street Studios inside the Ecotrust building in the Pearl (931 NW Johnson, in the space that once housed the Portland Patagonia store for those who have been around a while). The 7K square foot space is open and airy, so there will be plenty of space to spread out. Take the streetcar! There is also ample bike parking and a limited number of car spaces.

I help people thrive by learning how to use their creativity and energy to better themselves, those around them, and the world at large.

Marcus Carter | Director of Social Equity, Cinder

I am an Organizer, Teacher, and Catalyst dedicated to transforming the cultural, material, and systemic conditions of our workplace and society. Currently, I am engaged with various equity, justice, and liberation projects locally and nationally. In addition, I have the honor of partnering with Portland Workforce Alliance, Free Geek, and Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN) as a Board Member.

Amina Moreau | CEO, Radious.pro

Maybe it’s the athlete in me, maybe I’m just stubborn. But dang it if I don’t love a good challenge. I’ve built a good number of companies over the years with some close friends. Two of them were acquired and one of them even won a handful of Emmys a while back. I don’t consider myself an eternal optimist, yet I tend to see opportunity where others see roadblocks. I believe that storytelling is one of the most effective vehicles for social change, and I keep that in mind whenever I build something new. I’m building something new for the remote work future now.

Gabe Paez | Founder & CEO, The Wild

Gabe Paez is the founder of The Wild, a software company building a platform for design collaboration leveraging the power of shared virtual reality. The Wild makes it easy to share 3D design ideas with a group of people together in realtime. He is proud to have worked with a diverse roster of agencies and clients including Adidas, Verizon, Google, Nike, and Samsung. Gabe is an avid problem solver and finds great joy in bringing big ideas to life.
