OEN News2025 Angel Oregon Life & Bioscience Investment Announced
Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN) and its partners announced the angel investee at the Angel Oregon Life & Bioscience (AOBIO) Investment Announcement Mixer held December 1st in Portland.
Neurosom, a personalized, at-home neuromodulation therapy to improve deep and REM sleep, key factors in reducing dementia risk based out of Eugene, Oregon took home the $125,000 investment. Founder and CEO Viral Sheth presented the company alongside finalists Cosmo Grupp from LifeAir Medical, Jeff Jensen from OryGyn Med Devices, Nataliia Shchotkina from SokoLife, and Dan Gareau from Surgivance.
“Neurosom is honored to win the OEN-sponsored Angel Oregon BIO competition. This award serves as a powerful endorsement of our mission to transform deep sleep into a therapeutic gateway for brain health and dementia prevention. The mentorship and network we have been able to build throughout this program have been incredibly valuable. We’re deeply grateful to OEN and the Oregon innovation community for their support as we bring Sleep WISP™ closer to the patients and families who need it most,” said Neurosom’s CEO Viral Sheth after the announcement.
The fourth annual AOBIO hosted by OEN was presented in partnership with Oregon Bioscience Incubator (OBI), Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), Oregon Life Sciences, and Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute. The annual program included two cohorts of entrepreneur education focused on preparing for an investment in addition to the angel fund competition and is one in a series of Angel Oregon events.
The AOBIO angel fund is made up of investments from local angel investors as well as local institutional investors. Investors in the fund conducted due diligence on the applicants and selected a winner in a private vote, the results of which were revealed at the mixer held at McMenamins Mission Theater. Attendees included investors and venture capital firms, universities, government agencies, service providers, and nonprofits, representing a cross-section of the Oregon and Southwest Washington bioscience sector.
“For the second year in a row, the AOBIO program saw a record number of participants with almost 30 companies involved from around the state,” said Cara Turano, President and Executive Director of OEN. “From medical devices to diagnostics, the life and bioscience innovation that is being developed across Oregon and Southwest Washington is absolutely inspiring. These are solutions that are not just disruptive but truly life saving. Congratulations to the Neurolsom team, each of the finalists, and to all the companies who are growing their disruptive businesses here.”
