The Entrepreneurs Club (eClub) of Eastern Oregon University proudly welcomes Tres Shannon, co-founder of Voodoo Doughnuts, to their Fall Pub Talk. The event will be held on October 24, 2019, at Side A Brewing & Eastern Oregon Fire Museum (1219 Washington Ave, La Grande, OR, 97850).

Voodoo Doughnuts was started in 2003 by Richard “Tres” Shannon and Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson. The store opened as a small (750 sf) un-assuming shop in Portland’s Old Town just off Burnside Street. Prior to opening Voodoo Doughnuts Tres, a musician by trade, co-owned the X-Ray Café, an alternative music venue in Portland. The company has built their reputation around unconventional and creative doughnut offerings, such as the bacon-wrapped doughnut, breakfast cereal topped doughnut, NyQuil doughnut, the Voodoo doll, and others. You won’t find these bad boys at Dunkin Doughnuts or 7-11.
Voodoo Doughnuts has evolved from this humble start to a rapidly expanding collective of doughnut destinations. Their signature pink box, and standout designs, have been featured on the Travel Channel with Anthony Bourdain, Man vs. Food, Doughnut Paradise, Jay Leno, Leverage, Grimm, Supernatural, and others. In 2011 the company broke the Guinness World record for the largest box of doughnuts. They continue to expand this legacy with eight stores, the most recent shops are in Universal Studio in both Los Angeles and Orlando. But, knowing Tres and Cat Daddy, there is so much more to come…
