BYOB Virtual PubTalk: Navigating Tough Times
No doubt this is the worst “market correction” we’ve ever seen, but there are experienced founders, operators and investors who have survived down-cycles before, and can offer wisdom, insight and guidance to founders now. We’ve assembled five of them to join us via Zoom for a special virtual PubTalk – it’s BYOB!
- How to get your financials under control to extend your runway
- Tips for maintaining morale and culture, even in the midst of fear and physical distancing
- What to expect when the clouds part (and they will!)
Please note: if you’re an OEN member and don’t have the access code for your free PubTalks handy, please email us and we’ll help you find them. If you’re not a member (or don’t have any access codes left) and can’t afford the ticket right now, just email us and we’ll send you a comp code for this session, no problem. If you CAN afford it, buy a ‘cupla tickets or make a tax-deductible donation in any amount. OEN needs you.
Zoom link will be sent just prior to the session to all registered attendees.

Scott is currently an active angel investor and mentor and is involved in a number of entrepreneurial organizations aimed at driving economic growth in Oregon. Previously Scott was President and CEO of Cedexis, a Portland-based, venture-backed cloud optimization company. Cedexis grew rapidly and was successfully sold to Citrix systems in early 2018. Prior to that, he was President and CEO of RadiSys from 2002 to 2012. RadiSys (since sold) was a publicly traded global telecom solutions provider headquartered in Hillsboro, OR. During his tenure, RadiSys underwent significant revenue growth (reaching $500M) and strategic transformation. Prior to RadiSys, Scott was President and CEO of Chorum Technologies, a venture-backed startup in fiber optics located in Dallas, TX ($1B+ Unicorn in 1999). Scott began his career at AT&T/Lucent holding a variety of engineering and BU roles ending as VP/GM of Lucent’s multi-billion dollar, Optical Networking business. Scott received a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Wisconsin Madison and a M.B.A. from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Bonus, Scott was CEO of 400 person a venture backed tech company in Dallas when the dot-com bubble burst in 2000. He was also CEO of a 1,200 person public company during the financial meltdown of 2007-08. He’s got a few scars.

Foureyes, the sales intelligence software company, announced that veteran technology executive Jason Drucker has joined the staff as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Previously, Drucker was the Chief Revenue Officer of Zoom+ Care and President of ShiftWise where he demonstrated a consistent track record of developing and executing strategic direction to exceed the expectations of customers, employees, and investors.
Both ShiftWise and Zoom+Care resulted in positive outcomes for stakeholders but also required navigating the Great Recession (ShiftWise) and significant reorganization (Zoom) to get there. Six weeks into a new position with Foureyes will require a similar approach to ensure we are in position to thrive after we survive.
