m-six Wins Investment Competition at Angel Oregon
Software startup gets a $225,000 investment from a team of 45 angel investors
PORTLAND, Ore. - February 22, 2007 -- The Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN) today announced that m-six, a company that designs and builds software for data visualization and decision support, won the 2007 Angel Oregon investment competition held Thursday, February 22nd, in Portland.
M-six systems products and professional services provide elegant and cost-effective solutions that enable exploration of models that describe real-world locations. They integrate historic and real-time data for better decision-making.
Their primary product, PRiSM™, is a visualization system for architects, urban planners and real estate developers. It offers the highest quality rendering, interactivity and collaboration features, combined with breakthrough reductions in cost and complexity.
m-six and three other finalist companies, CSI Digital, Lumencor, and Remote Technologies, were selected from a pool of 45 applicants. This year’s competition was comprised of growth companies representing a variety of industries. A rigorous selection process was undertaken by the 45-member panel of active angel investors and seed-capital firms to select the winner. Each investor staked $5,000 to create the $225,000 investment award for this year’s event. The record number of investors OEN recruited to participate in this year’s conference has made Angel Oregon the largest single investment award competition in the northwest and perhaps, nationwide.
Angel Oregon, which is staged by OEN, is the Northwest’s premier education and networking event for Oregon-based angel investors and early-stage entrepreneurs. The competition has real economic impact for Oregon. Of the 15 presenting company alumni since 2003, all 15 are still operating with over $25 million in combined revenues and employ more than 250 people. This year’s event drew an audience of 300 angels, potential angels, entrepreneurs and OEN supporters.
