OEN's Seed Oregon

OEN's Seed Oregon is a unique opportunity for companies from Oregon and Southwest Washington that are seeking capital within the range of $100,000 to $2,000,000.  In this competition, CEOs of emerging companies learn the rules of the road for effective fundraising and receive coaching from content experts to help them shine; come show time.  The overall winner of OEN’s Seed Oregon PubTalk will receive exposure at OEN’s Angel Oregon, the premier angel investing event in the Northwest.

How it works
This entertaining competition begins with monthly run-off competitions at the September, October, November 2011 PubTalks, with the final event at the January 2012 PubTalk. The OEN Seed Oregon Selection committee will select nine presenting companies (three for each run-off event) to compete in the 2011-2012 Seed Oregon tournament.

At the tournament, each company will have 10 minutes to present its investor pitch to the PubTalk audience, followed by a 5 minute Q&A session.  The audience will vote for the winning presentation at each monthly run-off PubTalk.  The winner of each will move to the championship round in January. At the championship round, the audience will vote for the overall winning company, which will receive exposure at OEN’s Angel Oregon.

Benefits of applying
Companies selected to compete in the tournament will receive:
  • Coaching session with presentation coach and speaking expert Dave Yewman of DASH Consulting along with content coaching from angel investor volunteers.
  • Company visibility via OEN event promotions.
  • Networking opportunities and educational opportunities to help illuminate the fundraising process.
  • The opportunity to get exposure at OEN’s Angel Oregon in front of many of the states active investors

Applicants not selected to present will be referred to the OEN Roadmap Program, a coaching program designed to give expert feedback to entrepreneurs specific to their company.
