Two individual achievement finalists are also founders of two of the companies that are in the finalist round for the 2013 OEN Awards

Portland, Ore., July 18, 2013 — Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN) announced today the three finalists for the OEN Tom Holce Entrepreneurship Individual Achievement Award. Company finalists in three stages of development were announced last week.

This year’s finalists for Individual Achievement are:

Mat Ellis, CEO, Cloudability – Mat is the co-founder of Cloudability, a market leading company that helps organizations identify how much a company is spending in the cloud and evaluate data usage. It now manages more than $500 million in cloud spending, or about 10% of all IaaS spending globally. Recognized locally and globally for its innovation, Cloudability was deployed by Obama For America in the last presidential reelection and most recently, The Oregon Tech Awards named Cloudability its 2013 Startup of the Year.

Luke Kanies, CEO & Founder, Puppet Labs – Luke Kanies has had a singular impact on the IT industry, forever changing how computers are managed and, as a result, accelerating the adoption of virtualization and cloud computing, the most disruptive industry platform changes in the last ten years. Customers in literally every industry vertical trust Puppet Labs’ software to manage their mission-critical business applications, including Google, Bank of America, REI, Disney, GE, Nike, and many more.

John Marick, CEO, Consumer Cellular – In less than 20 years, John Marick has built Oregon-based Consumer Cellular into a wireless carrier powerhouse that has seen consistent 30+ percent growth year over year for the past eight years. The company, which will bring in annual revenues of more than $300 million in 2013, has secured significant corporate partners such as AT&T, Sears and AARP and has earned top service rankings from Consumer Reports (over the giants like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile) for three consecutive years.

The OEN Tom Holce Entrepreneurship Awards is Oregon’s largest, annual, statewide gathering which celebrates our best and brightest entrepreneurs.

The OEN Tom Holce Entrepreneurship Awards are a highly competitive process and it is a significant achievement to be named as a finalist. In honor of that, OEN not only produces a gala celebration focusing on excellence in entrepreneurship but also the awards presented to the winners are true works of art, designed the by local and world-renown Ziba Design. This high profile gala event attracts a crowd of more than 700 of Oregon and SW Washington’s most influential business people.
