The investment group was challenged this year due to the quality of applicants. Skip Rung, President of ONAMI, and a WAC investor since inception in 2009, said, “This is the strongest pool of WAC applicants I’ve seen. I review business plans from all over the state, and I see dozens of pitches every year. This is the best ever.”

“This is clearly the best slate ever, with better potential investments from top to bottom,” said Jens Anderson, Eugene CPA and member investor. “I also see plans from the Bend Venture Group, so I’ve seen dozens every year of the last four. And this year’s group is the best.”

This year is the fifth since the WAC began in 2009. The group includes investor members from Eugene and Corvallis, divided roughly half in half. The WAC event switches between Eugene and Corvallis in alternating years. The Eugene Chamber of Commerce leads the development, sponsorship, organization, and hosting of the event.

*The investment amount is still pending because the investor group is still open to new members.
